Honoring Your Body
Wow! Day after the New York City Marathon and you can still fell the buzz in the air in this town. 39,000 determined, proud, fierce individuals ran this race. Check out this super cool interactive course map that shows just how intense this run is.
When I woke Sunday morning to a beautiful, crisp fall day in New York, the collective energy was so strong! You could literally feel the streets pulsating as the New York City Marathoners were crossing the great city’s boroughs. The intense thrill of the morning was witnessing the great African runners and elite women already nearing Central Park, while other dedicated, determined runners were just crossing the bridge into Manhattan! Unbelievable sight. The whole day, I felt totally motivated, proud of my body and its abilities, and humbled by the sheer dedication of all those running. We can all take cues from others achievements to rock harder.
Let’s also take a moment to honor Ryan Shay, the young runner whose life was tragically cut short while participating in the Olympic Trials Marathon. It is always sad to hear of any passing, but almost unfathomable when someone is at peak physical condition. As a community, let’s use this loss as a commitment to regular check-ups and listening to our bodies as we strive for the best.
Namaste and Be You!
Michelle
