Detoxing in the the New Year
OK – I know there’s a lot out there focused on the New Year, but it is a symbolic time of fresh starts and new beginnings, so why not utilize this “clean slate” time to refine, replenish and restore. We hear a lot about detoxing, but detoxing doesn’t have to be as extreme as a 3-day juice fast.
When I feel I need to cleanse, I take a 30-minute bath each night before bed for 3-5 days with pink Himalayan sea salts steeped in purifying essential oils. You can make these yourself with a cup of sea salts and add 10-20 drops each of fennel, basil and juniper essential oils. If you’d rather go ready made try Space NK’s seaweed bath salts from Brittany — also good after a tough workout.
Now that you’ve sweated out all those toxins, try incorporating Cell Food into your diet. Just a few of these magical drops mixed in water send all sorts of nutrients to the body. I use this whenever I feel my body needs a break and a natural boost.
And now that you’re all clean, inside and out, what’s the perfect pick me up when you don’t want to “re-tox” your body with caffeine, try a shot of wheatgrass – it’s better for you AND better tasting than you think.
Namaste,

Another good and inexpensive option is Apple Cider Vinegar.
Put 2 cups into a tub of hot water and soak for about 20 mins. Then wrap yourself up in some warm blankets and sweat it out. Be sure to drink plenty of water while in the tub and in the blankets. It will help you to sweat out all the toxins.
Once you stop sweating, rinse off and relax.
I like to do this before I am about to go to bed. I feel GREAT the next morning.
I like that, Bob! Cheap and WORKS!
