Enhancing Natural Beauty with Skin Care Products
I’ve always felt that being athletic and looking put together should go hand-in-hand. In my old corporate life, I made “day-to-night” transformations an art form. And now, working in studios, teaching several yoga classes a day, shooting to a meeting, then perhaps a dinner with friends, finding beauty products that enhance my skin, won’t clog my pores, and can hold up to sweaty yoga classes is a challenge. But I have some solutions that will make you look and feel good, without looking like you tried too hard. I have 3 must meet criteria for my “no-make-up” make-up regime: does it protect, is it multi-functional, does it travel well.
If you start with a beautiful multi-purpose tinted moisturizer, flawless beautiful skin can be yours right there. There are some outstanding products on the market that protect, enhance, and beautify in one quick step. Two of my favorites are Organic Pharmacy’s Organic Glam Luminous Antioxidant Foundation. This product is amazing, it’s chock full of antioxidants and is so thin you can layer it. My other favorite “first line of defense product” is Becca Cosmetics Luminous Skin Colour. Why is it so great? This is your skin heightened and enlightened, high SPF and an amazing color range (from the fairest to the darkest of skin tones…) This line is from Australia, and you know those sun worshiping babes know a thing or two about looking good while playing hard. Both come in plastic, easy to tote packaging.
When I say multi-functional — I mean it. If I could take care of all my beauty needs with one bottle, I would. But since that’s not possible, less is definitely more for me. I am always seeking out products that have more than one use. Now that you have this beautifully protected base, how do we enhance quickly? I love SukiColor’s Pure Cream Stain for Lip and Cheek. This product goes on smooth, quickly and blends well. I’m also a fan of lips and cheeks having a similar hue (because they do naturally) and these colors are natural and beautiful. My favorites are dahlia and clay. Suki’s products are also made with 100% crushed mineral pigment. Keep your eye on this line. I will be reviewing their skin care line in an upcoming post.
I know at this point, some of you ladies are wedded to mascara, and a touch of your favorite waterproof brand would be all you need now. As you know I try to pick products that are good for your skin and the environment, opting for organic and natural products where I can. Mascara is a tough find in keeping with my guidelines as many mascaras contains some levels of mercury and alcohol. However, good clean alternatives can be found on VeganEssentials.com.
Please send me comments regarding any of your beauty tips and finds. A few key products can really make the difference in looking good and feeling good. And remember, in upcoming posts, I will be reviewing some hot and upcoming organic skin care and makeup lines.

Here’s my test: any makeup able to withstand 40 minutes on a treadmill deserves a turn in my makeup rotation, LOL! And you’re so right about Becca Cosmetics Luminous Skin Colour. That’s one of my faves.
I love that treadmill image! And Becca really does have an amazing texture and end result is this great glow. Even working out - as my Mom would say: you never know who you’ll run into! Thanks for reading…

Hi Michelle
I completely agree with your article that using natural beauty Skin Care Products we can achieve a good glowing and charming skin.
I want to try the organic glam foundation, but am not sure about what shade to chose. I wear Becca luminous skin color in sand (winter) or toast (summer) and am MAC NC25. Any suggestions? Thanks!
http://www.newlondonpharmacy.com/organic-glam/foundtn-illumin.htm ever trying to provide you with the best info: organic glam is a UK based product, but here in New York it’s sold at New London Pharmacy and amazing shop that sells unique and hard to find beauty products. If you’re in the States, see link above and ask for Wesley. Tell him Michelle sent you.
Nice post. Very useful and quite informative post you have here Michelle. And this tips came are based by your own experience on the products too, unlike those advertised by some beauty products (of which, some are quite disappointing). Anyway, thank you for posting this.

I really appreciate for your blog. Its awesome post.
Skin care is definitely not a luxury but an absolute necessity and using natural skin care products or makeup will not only help your skin look good but also reduce the potential toxins that can be absorbed into the body - and none of us want that…
Exactly, Danny!
