Focus on:

Belly Dancing

Another incredible celebratory dance is bellydancing. There is great debate exactly over where or when it originated, but it can be traced to the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and Africa. Over the centuries, this erotic dance has been performed by woman of all cultures. It is a dance characterized by smooth, flowing, complex, and sensual movements of the torso, alternated with shaking and shimmy type moves. With an emphasis on abdominal muscles, hip moves, and chest moves, it provides a great workout that allows you to firm your midsection while getting in touch with your body. Yoga

While many of us use Yoga as a good stretch, it’s original use was to prepare for long, deep periods of meditations. After all, if you hips hurt for an afternoon of meditation, all you would be able to think about was how uncomfortable you are. The various poses and postures in yoga are mostly celebratory expressions of nature or gratitude, such as sun salutes. Each was designed to help you begin to connect with the divinity within you as you prepared for meditation. For many, Yoga is still a an expression of the joy and gratitude they have found in their lives. There are many different forms of Yoga, some more gentle than others. It may take the time to find one best suited for you.
