beYOU.tv Radio - Say “Yes!” with Dr. Michelle Segar and Jonathan Rollo
It’s so easy to say, “I don’t have time” or “I really want to, but…” we know, because we’ve all done it before. But this week we have Dr. Michelle Segar with us to help you figure out just why - too often - we say “no.” She offers some great ways to start saying yes to fun and inspired physical activity.
Chef Jonathan Rollo, Commander-in-Leaf of L.A’.s Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop talks about how he went from being a pudgy kid to saying “yes” to fresher and healthier eating and in the process translating that passion into his new restaurant to help provide others with better eating options.

This month, commit to saying “yes” to something, anything. We don’t care what, volunteer one day a week, start using a canvas bag at the market, get outside for a walk or a run. Just one thing, no matter what is it is, just say, “Yes” and feel the power! It’s addictive.
BUZZ FROM THE BLOGSPHERE
It usually takes some type of catalyst to get you out of your current routine and to start saying “yes” to something new. Hopefully, it’s something inspiring, but sometimes it’s not.
This week we look at how and why some folks in the Blogsphere are saying “yes” to new and healthier habits.
- Being “solid Southern stock”, Snaky Momma says, her family never really payed much attention to long-term health, but for her that all changed after her grandmother died. “Do I think now that she’d be around kicking and screaming if she’d been more conscious about her heart’s health? Without question. What makes the situation so heartrending is that her condition could have been ameliorated by a few simple lifestyle changes.” Her touching memories of her grandmother and how she set new goals for herself is a great example for her whole family.
- Like many of us Keith at Optimized Executive maintains a hectic schedule. Too often he finds himself having to make a meal from the vending machine (note to Keith - an others: Pack your own food and keep a stash at the office). He offers some suggestions on his blog on how to make healthy choices at the vending machine. While the pretzels are nice choice, I’m not a fan of processed peanut butter.
- Still got excuses for not starting to exercise? Well, Yahoo! Health is calling you in… and we’re backing them up. Check out What Keeps You From Exercising and their excuse busters. You’re only one step away from a fresh start!
