Leave it to the Brits. But they’re not the only ones: cross the pond and back in the states Earth Erotics specializes in green sex toys as well as natural oils, lubricants even organic bed linen. But on a more serious note - according to Earth Erotics website and what prompted the creation of their business - the making of sex toys is unregulated and can be virtually made out of almost any material, including poly vinyl chloride, which is a controversial and potentially dangerous plastic.

In the United States, many jelly rubber sex toys use rubber softeners, such as phthalates. The use of phthalates in children’s toys has been banned in Europe due to health concerns regarding fetal development, cancers, obesity, sperm counts, and other negative health effects… So knowing that, one might think twice before grabbing just any aid of delight.
