Can LeBron Help Save the World?
Superstar NBA forward LeBron James has a new focus in addition to tearing up the courts – cleaning up the environment. James teamed up with children’s networking giant Nickelodeon on a campaign that will make both kids and parents alike aware of what they can do to help the ecosystem named, “The Big Green Help.”
As part of the campaign, James is filming public service announcements, which begin airing in mid July. The campaign is dual sided; it is also aimed at getting kids to exercise more and realize the importance of it. “Get outside, ride bikes, play hoops,” says James. “And in this, we’re trying to save water and do other things that can help the environment. … It doesn’t take much to recycle a can or turn the faucet off.”
LeBron will also be featured in a game on the Nicklodeon website. Kids will guide a bike riding LeBron James through an obstacle course. Along the way, He gives kids “green tips,” with the aim of teaching kids what they can do to play a role in conserving the planet’s natural resources.
