The Head-to-Toe Guide to Natural HealthFrom the top of your head to the tips of your toes, there are many ways to maintain your good health. Here are some natural remedies for your body, to give extra attention to places on your body… even your brain.

Brain - If you’re feeling uninspired and not motivated, consider yoga, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, or Tai Chi. These are known depression-fighters and will bring in the positive energy.

Eyes - Have you ever heard of Bilberries? No, this is not a typo. Bilberries are cousins with the blueberry, but unlike the blueberry, which grows in clusters; these bilberries are grown as a single berry or as paired berries. Bilberries can be eaten for better eyesight and to improve circulation.

Head - To relieve your mind from stress try Biofeedback therapy. This is a painless relaxation technique that involves attaching small electrodes to the skin, finger or via headphones, the electrodes sends brain wave information to a monitor that translates your physiologic response through a series of visual and mental exercises. This can prevent migraines and one can learn to lower their blood pressure and stress levels.

Sinuses - To prevent sinus infections, try aromatherapy, this involves breathing in plant oils, also known as essential oils, including Rosemary, Tea Tree, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lavender and Clove for physical and psychological well-being. These natural oils stimulate the brain and can trigger a therapeutic benefit. Place essential oil in a bowl of hot warm and inhale, or place a few drops of essential oils on your forehead, and massage on the base of the head.

Jaw - TMJ, temporomandibular joints, is the common acronym associated with jaw tension. Jaw stress can come from stress in the neck, shoulders and head. To start you will need to stretch and exercise your jaw, spend a minute opening your mouth really wide and move it side to side stretching the muscles.

Tummy - If you are bloating, constipated and your digestive system is unpleasant then put some mint in your tea; known to sooth stomach aches.

Legs - Muscle spasms can be reduced with heat therapy. The heat will increases blood flow. Damp—heat packs, or a microwavable damp towel will do.

Skin - What you eat does affect your skin. Vitamins A, B C and E should be in your diet and also found in your skin creams. For anti-aging and to build collagen stick to natural organic creams with acetyl hexapeptide-3, seaweed, white tea, rose fruit oil, and Rhodiola. Hydrating your skin will make it appear younger and more alive.

Toes and Feet - Moisturizing your feet is soothing and a nice massage with a foot lotion that has ginger oil, cinnamon, clove oil, and cocoa butter works wonders.

We stretch our back, arms, our neck and shoulders but we often forget the feet. To give your feet a stretch you can point your big toe downward and hold it there for a few seconds, or use a toe stretches. My favorite toe stretcher is Yoga Toes.
