How to Handle the Pressures in Your LifeAs I write this article I think about all of the other things I have to do. Forget cleaning and laundry today, the list is just too long for that stuff. Yet I know by mid-day the guilt will pull at my mind and I will feel dryness at my throat telling me, you’re stressed. If you’re like me, being stressed means you lose your creative spirit and even though there are a million things running through the mind, you become less active and productive. Yet here are some ways I keep the pressures in my life at ease, even when the list is very long.

Prepare for the Solution
Writing down the challenges you are facing in daily life, and how you can overcome them is therapy in itself. Focus on the main challenge that you need to attend to immediately and mark it most important and spend some time planning a strategy to get it done.

Recall a Past Success
For your spirit it is important to reflect and remember moments and experiences when you did something generously, kind, and successfully, thinking of all you have accomplished and how you have helped or improved someone else’s life can inspire you.

Admit Your Past Mistakes
Changing your mindset and attitude involves confronting your flaws and mistakes, and the times you might have neglected priorities. Stress comes from not having order in your life and in your mind.

Balance Your Goals
To feel less stressed finish your goals fully before you jump to the next. We try to multi-task but then sometimes never get anything done at all. Finishing one task fully and giving it the attention it needs is a way to limit the pressures in your life, and can make you feel less stressed and more accomplished. Focus on the top goals of the day and then let the other To-Do items follow once you have finished the top.

It’s Ok to say No
You might have planned to meet a friend after work, but if your mind is very stressed and you need some space, then reschedule. It is easy to just submit and attend to everything on the schedule, and other’s needs, but don’t forget your own well-being. It is ok to say “No” and take a day or some time off for yourself and your own well-being.
