Guys, if you are losing weight, you might want to make sure that you stick to your guns and keep it off. Studies have shown that men whose weight seesaws up and down have an increased risk for bone fractures later in life due to decreased bone density.
A 28 year study of 4,601 men between the ages of 25 and 50 who dieted and regained weight indicated that they were more likely to fracture their forearm after age 50, which is an indicator of bone fragility. Only 17 percent of men in the study who reported no weight loss had sustained a fractured forearm, compared to 35 – 43 percent of men who had dieted down four or more times over the years – nearly triple the rate of the non weight loss group.

As far as my experience has taught me regarding acupuncture’s efficacy in the treatment of weight loss, the jury is still out. This may come as a disappointment to those who are on a quest for the next best thing in weight loss and were hoping acupuncture was the answer.
